Wee
Patch

Time Flies! Crazy Town! We started making a wee patchwork of some of the jobs we have done this year - here it is... there were more, but it was getting a bit silly.

Thankyou a million times thankyou to everyone who came to our Monster Children show back in Oct. It was a big blurry success and double triple thanks if you bought work! We haven't updated with any pictures yet but Garry has some on his wonderful blog and Nick made this video of Sonny, Joe, Thommy and Nick working on the install. Oh yeah and here's us slothing round our house... answering questions awkwardly, preparing for said show...

We've been a bit busy lately working on a bunch of stuff for Laneway Festival - oh yes, Daniel Johnston (We made them this years new logo and design and illustration and a plethora of print ads... tshirts... hats....)

And the Paul Dempsey art machine keeps a rolling on with a very special project we are excited to be working away on right now. Let you know about that laters.

Plus Popfrenzy have gone nuts and are bringing out just about every amazing band over the Summer so we have got to make them a million posters!

So thankyou very much for checking out our site and please have a big fat merry holiday. We will be practicing our elocution and Obama style oration for our talk at next years agIdeas in Melbourne. If you are planning on attending please make sure you come to our talk in the nuddy. We have been told that will help our nerves or something.

SHOWTIME
!

We're ecstatic to be having a little ol' show at Monster Chidren Gallery. Next Thursdy. Next Thursdy the 15th. Of October. Oh. Nine. It's called "Trials".

We had one called "Tragedies" and one called "Surrender". And one called "Photocopulst". But this is called "Trials" and its mainly screen prints, mainly 1 or 2 colours. Kinda cartoony. Three boobs. A lot of cigarette smoke. A dozen odd witches hats. A clowder of cats. Its about bad luck and badder health.

Please come along to our opening! We'll be the anaemic and/or overly hirsute ones shmooping about in the shadows.

It is on: 6PM, Thursday October 15 Monster Children Gallery. 20 Burton St, Darlinghurst. Show is up till Nov 4.

Flies

Been a little busy so no updates fr a while but we WILL update this soon. New stuff includes:

It should be noted we have been sooo lucky to have Hunmi and Cameron working with us over the last months and they have made the WBYK force strong and mighty. They are fantastic and have worked on pretty much all these jobs listed here.

Oh yeah and we were in a couple of shows in Brisbane

and Sonny drew up a storm at the Powerhouse Play Late wall of comics as devised by Matt Huynh

And also oh yeah, there's this other little thing... we're just having a solo show at Monster Children Gallery in October. Oh yes. For really. Its so exciting to even type those words. Mid October peoples. Please come along!

In the meantime, we'll be wasting precious time an making inappropriate comments on twitter.

To the moon Alice!
To the moon!

Whilst getting all excited about this I suddenly remembered we did a third Alice-themed artwork recently and had not added it to the site. So I just did. It is here - and its a little baroque Alice on a huge mechanical rabbit hole for Tuesday Spoils, who were great to work with - they requested no changes - we llooooooove that. It was also fun to get to render out Alice elements in a completley different style to our last attempt which was the screenprints and window display at Incu last year.

Briz
Bania

This Thursday 25th June at the Zoo in Brisbane is The Outpost's 5th ever "I Used To Skate Once" show. We has gots a board in it. There is a long list of great artists who have all painted a skateboard and you can read all about it here - come along if you are in Brisbane it will be a great night. Kirin J. Callinan i playing as well as some other peoples too - very awesome.

Then the next night we are in another show in Brisabane, at Nine Lives Gallery, which is pretty aptly titled for this show which is called "Happy Endings". It is Sam Morgan, Joe-seph Allen, Max Olijnyk, and US!.... Read on...

"We’re all going to die and everyone we know is going to die, too. It’s useless to pretend otherwise, and why the long face? Death is funny haha and funny interesting, just like the rest of life. And who knows, it might be just around the corner, especially if you make it a habit of attending exhibitions in Fortitude Valley. You might get stabbed on your way home!

The amazing southern conglomerate of Joseph Allen (Izrock), Webuyourkids, Sam Morgan (Bloglips.blogspot.com) and Max Olijnyk (Note to Self) are ok with it. Are you?

Presented by Nine Lives, The Outpost, Vans and Vice Magazine."

Our work is about miracle medicine. We's gots some screen-prints, we's got some A0 photocopied eyeballs and we's go some little Gooco-ed ladies heads with stuff in em. Actually the screen-prints exist in the future as we just got the screens back and Sonny and Amy Intern-Extraodinaire are gonna print them all up thisafternoon. Cutting it fine? Yup.

Refrigerated
Goodness

A while ago our fridge broke down. It took 3 weeks to get it fixed and it turned out it was the cyclic defrost on the freezer that was the culprit. Not having a fridge sucks. Weird stuff grows on butter. But something that doesn't suck, and it fact rules quite magnificently is the magazine Cyclic Defrost. We have long been fans of not only the publication but their run of feature illustrators and designers who do the covers each issue. So how rapt were we to be asked to do the latest issue? Very rapt. There's also an article on us and a few pages of us raving about how awesome Steak Mountain and Danzig are. Can't argue with Danzig.

Also we put some oldish newish stuff up on the site - gig posters for La Chouf, Matt & Kim, The Holy Soul, Dan Webb, and the CD cover we did for him also, FBI's Bowl Lotta Love, the poster we made for our show with Greedy Hen, and also the poster we made for Tommy Dassalo's show Out At The Pictures WHICH we were lucky enough to see last weekend in Melbourne and urge you to try and catch if you are there cos he made us laugh out loud and I made some of those embarrassing piggy laugh noises too - its a really great show. Also here is a YouTube presentation of when we were in Melbourne last year texta-ing up 100cases of beer for the Nelson launch. And there is a whole bunch more we have to get up on the site but that will happen laters.

Oh
And Also

... from the Ghost of Exhibitions Past comes photos on Garry Trinh's blog showing some early pics of our Black Magic Tricks show with The Hens. Here they are! - he also managed to capture Zombiddy clearly sighing the word "gaaaaaaaaa" . Check out Garry's amazing work here, the Bonsai and Same Same series are both just amazing.

We'll post the new work we made for the Black Magic Tricks show here soon, one of these days. The images above were in it - they both feature photos of Biddy's Dad's mother's father's mother, or possibly grandmother, we get confused. 'Er name's 'Arriet.

Thanks to everyone who came to the opening - it was just bonkers. And thanks to everyone who bought work! You rule. And thanks Mark Drew! You also rule, everything around us.

Art.
We've got loads of it round the back.

Here's a couple of exhibitions of the public art variety we are honoured to be included in over the next week or so.

First up is NEW EYES OPEN at aMBUSH. That opens tonight! April 1st., 6-9PM, then shows daily until April 9, 12-4PM. aMBUSH gallery is at 4A James St , Waterloo, Sydders. The exhition is part of Semi-Permanent and has many peoples in it we think are the bats meow - like Anthony Lister, Trent Whitehead, Beastman, Ben Frost, Ainslie Fletcher, James Jirat Patradoon... and then us too.

When that finishes on April 9 you hould then go to Melbourne for the Gorker launch for Timba's Wooden Toy Hand made edition. More info here. Biddy has a picture in the exhibition. She drew it with a pencil. She possibly has some pictures in the magazine too. She drew them with a computer. It should be a great night on the corner of Gore and Kerr in Fitzroy. More info heeeeeeeeeeeere.

And then one day soon we will put up some of the many jobs and artworks we are working on at the moment, which are taking up all our time and prohibiting us from gushing poorly-typed nonsense on this here newspage.

Black Mountain
on a Wednesday night

is about the most exciting and face-destroyingly awesome thing we have seen for a while. Yes we were anticipating this with sweaty little palms. Yes they played at the Annandale and yes we have melted faces and chalky bones from their sonic magesty. And yes we went home after and watched Deep Red to celebrate, and washed it all down with duty-free bourbon. Yes yes yes yes yes.

I also love beer! Who doesn't. We couldn't have been happier when asked to make a design for a tasty new beer called Nelson. More info on it here and our pictures here.

AAAAAAAAAALSOOOOOO Nelson is the beer sponsor for our show with Greedy Hen at China Heights TOMORROW (Fri 6th) so there's a little extra incentive to come along.

The Night Is Ours (for the USA)

I love this album. Did I tell you how much I love this albm? It's a lot. We got to make it an alternate cover for its US release by Worlds Fair in April, which looks like this.
