We made a few posters of late too, as posters is what we do. Most recent has been The Ruby Suns, Thee Holy Soul's Christmas show, Blacklevel Embassy and Metronomy, by themselves in Melbourne or with Pivot in Sydney. But of course it is now illegal to post them on the streets where we live because we're all gentrified now and clearly gone loopy. Bah.

Got Well Hung
We also got be in quite a few exhibitions this year and topped the year off with a double bunger being included in the Monster Children End of Year Alphabet show the same night our Photocopulist exhibition opened in Cairns.
We'll update with some photos of Cairns as soon as we get a change but basically we had a ball - our biiiiigest thanks to Damien, Lorena, Liz and Kylie and everyone who made this so awesome for us. If you are anywhere near Cairns you should definitely check out We're and the Crate Gallery or anything by The Upholstery as we saw a lot of great stuff happening in Cairns and met a lot of great people. Damien has some photos of the night here and here is a picture of our ugly mugs that ran in the Cairns Post!

Got Large
2008 has been the year we got to put our pictures on various sorts of things and places we wouldn't normally, in sometimes massive proportions.
There was the great big Alice in Wonderland we made for Incu, or the Cheshire cat vinyl windows we made for there also.
There's the imagery for a huge 16m long wall at the Beach Road Hotel we made for Ben Frost, who installed it using his crazy skills with the paste-ups.
Then there's the jeep that got covered with our artwork for Mountain Dew.
There were the Mecca Cosmetica Myer windows.
And lastly there's one very exciting job we just did for The Taboo Group in Melbourne, (who are awesome), which we are super stoked with. We'll post about that here soon, but it involved getting us to Melbourne to create a mural which we painted in front of a gathering at the launch of a product we are veeeeeeeeery happy to be associated with.

Photo Trop Tourists
Gone Exhibitionizin'
So what originally was a trip to hang out with my sister has turned into a fullblown Webuyyourkids art explosion! Our friends at We're in Cairns asked and we said "yes please."
We're is an amazing shop in Cairns. These guys are lovely and are taking it up a notch for art, fashion, design and many other things we like in far Nth Qld. We will be exhibiting a selection of our posters from the last twelve months blown up to mammoth-y proportions as well as some of our silk screen work and giclee prints.
"Photocopulist" opens Dec 12 at Crate gallery in Cairns. More info here. If you're in Cairns and can make it, please come and say hi. We'll be the pale pasty ones, melted in a heap - two puddles of goo in matching French tshirts.

One Of These Days
ALICE
Hi! We just made this giant Alice In Wonderland and stuck it in a window at Incu, at The Galeries Victoria. To see it you kind of have to go to Incu. But we put some images of it here. And many images of Sonny lying in funny positions to paint it, and how messy our space got whilst constructing her - here.

Peace
Here are some pictures of some designs we made for Skateboarding Australia, in various colours and shapes.
And here are some pictures of this one time, last week, when Sonny tried to run away to man camp with The Council of Dalba. This was a bunch of good souls who decides to take a van and skate and camp from Sydney to Melbourne. And then once in Melbourne install and celebrate French's awesome new exhibition. Good thing French's show is also gonna be at Sydney Monster Children gallery soon since endurance skateing and beach sleeping are really bad for Sonny's back and he missed the entire end of the tour.

More Than Words
Is More Than a Song By Extreme.
It is also the title of a very lovely article on us written by one Rita Lee of Computer Arts China. You can read it here - if you have such abilities. But basically it includes some awesome writing - including calling our work both "harsh majical" and "fresh as fish in restaurant" which are two phrases we are hanging onto with white knuckles cos we think they are just grand. Rita also enjoyed our enjoyment of Danzig because she's cool.
We also recently created some artwork for the first Sydney Music and Culture Awards which you can see here and then when we had a look at the site Time Out made for this we discovered we are actually nominated for an award for Best Visual Artist. We did not rig this. But if after doing some research on us by reading Rita's article you feel like sending a vote or 9 our way - please do so here - http://www.smacawards.com/ Don't let the amazoids who are also nominated distract you from voting for us.

.. if you know what's good for you - you'll spend this Halloween at China Heights checking out Stephanie Anderson + Dave Ladd's exhibition. We guarantee it will be an amazement of wonders - you'll have seen their work exhibited seperately before but this is the first showing of their combined forces and we caneeeee wait.

Surrendered
Bring Out Yr Bitchezz
Fiiiiiiinally we've uploaded images from our Surrender show at Lamington Drive in Melbourne in August. This here website is officially bustin' out the sides so we put up a special page for all the work in this show here. Have a looky if you like.
We made all the work in just over 3 weeks and in working at such furious break-neck and panicky speed we think we managed to create a bunch of work that represents who we are and what we do far better than if we had had more time to think about it all. Urgency seems to work okay for us. Everything comes back to witchcraft, horror movies and doom metal. And the Laydeez.
Unfortunately we took only a few photos of us setting it up and basically none of the opening, but you can also see a nice shot of the cardboard gallery in this interview with Jeremy The Man Wortsman.
This is the animation we made that was projected on the wall inside the gallery entrance. It just looped and looped but we cut it up here to a Boris song.

Spainazoid Art-matique
Brain broke.
Do you live Spain?
Then you will most definitely know the Vallery gallery, and if you go there now you can see the Spanish leg of the "Now Showing" tour. Darren Firth has taken the show he put on earlier at Cosh in London to Barcelona. And we're still in it! And now there are a few new pieces too - including a beauuutiful one by Siggi Eggertsson.
Do you live in The Internet?
I do. So I look at that exhibition by clicking here. I pretend I went to the opening by clicking here. And I do the good thing and cough up someserious Euros to buy my own work by clicking here.

Clutch
For Daddy
If you can get to Hermanns in the next 40 minutes, you should. That would make your arrival at 4, giving you an sweet half hour to get ready before Talons start playing as the beginning of your Best Sydney Sunday Lineup Ever. Just look at that lineup! It will set you back a mere $12, and then when Talons go on to release their awesome future album you can sit back and pat yourself on the back that you put in 12 bucks towards making that real. Aaaaaaah.
